The Perfect Spot to Enjoy your Cape May Family Vacation!

The Longfellow House is ideally situated on Hughes, Cape May's oldest residential street. A wonderful location that features interesting details like authentic gas lamps still in operation. Our house is three blocks from the beach and two blocks from the famous Washington Street walking mall, home to renown South Jersey restaurants and terrific shopping. Perfect for Cape May vacation goers. Hughes Street itself is wonderful. It's one way — meaning less traffic — which can be reassuring for families with children. It's also quiet, providing a degree of privacy that our renters truly appreciate. Adding to that private feel, we have small yards in the front and back so kids can get out and play.

Hughes Street cuts right through the heart of Cape May's famous Historic District as you will learn if you take one of the many horse & buggy tours that clip-clop up our street. Each year our tenants tell us how much fun their children had watching the horses from the front porch.

Beautiful Architecture, Shopping District and the Beaches — all nearby!

Our immediate neighborhood features some of the finest examples of the classic Victorian architecture that defines the heart and soul of Cape May. The two landmark structures seen below, the Mainstay and Southern Mansion, are just one block from The Longfellow House and the neighborhood has many other wonderful, classic Victorian homes.
