Activities or tips that can be the perfect compliment to families visiting Cape May in a vacation home rental; that can add to the guest house experience. To get started, here's our first pick for the 2010 summer:

Ellie's Bakery in West Cape May

They have absolutely best sticky buns EVER! Run by Ellie and her fun daughter Kate (she has a very smart wit), this new bakery in West Cape May opened their doors last year and were a big hit. Head on out in the morning with your kids, it makes the early morning bike ride take on a whole new sense of anticipation and fun. After your first sticky bun you'll know what we're talking about. Get there early because the line can get long and it's best to get your buns right out of the oven (if you know what I mean)!

Trust us when we say it takes a lot of love, blood... sweat... and fears (for those of us who don’t like high ladder work) to maintain our home. That said - one of the truly great things about Cape May is the unique architecture found throughout the town.

Since 2005, the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) has presented the Designer Show House for the enjoyment of local residents and visitors.

Noted designers from the region have transformed historic properties into gems of modern living and design, while maintaining the historical integrity of the buildings, and restoring them to their former glory.

If you’re planning a vacation to the Longfellow House this Fall and enjoy architecture you might want to include a visit to the Designer Show House.

This year’s property, the Otis Townsend Residence was built in 1915 and is an outstanding representation of Craftsman-style architecture and that relies mainly on its structural details for ornamentation.

The Otis House is located on 115 Reading Ave., Cape May Open through October 19, 2008.

Timings are from 10 am to 3 pm daily, and evenings Sunday through Friday, 7pm.
Regular visitors to Cape May often boast of the towns eclectic restaurant scene. Our good friends at the Washington Inn, known for their decerning palates and fondness to tip and toast a good meal have put together a series of wine tasting courses.

That's what we call a 'tastey' subject.

Hosted by the Washington Inn (just a 3 minute stumble around the corner from our humble abode) and sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC).

Unless otherwise noted, all classes are conducted at the Washington Inn, 801 Washington Street, Cape May, and are held from 1pm-3pm on Sunday afternoons.

Attendees must be 21.

Any questions - call 800-275-4278!

Cheers...where everyone knows your name...
